We recorded this over 2weeks in the Summer of 2000 at Solid Sound Studios. The editing, mixing and mastering took place over the next several months at my studio MiscStudio primarily using Vegas Video. Quorum's performances are fantastic and passionate, capturing the essence of Evan's beautiful and dramatic music. Evan and I had the luxury of being very (VERY) picky and precise in the editing and mixing process. We wanted the listener to feel as if they were sitting in the middle of the ensemble; able to hear every line and nuance -- details that would be impossible to hear in the concert hall... but still retain the beauty of the ensemble. I think it worked. It was a great pleasure to work with Evan -- someone I deeply respect and admire -- on such a large scale, detailed project. Cold Water, Dry Stone can be purchased from Evan Chamber's website or most music stores that carry contemporary concert music. |
